4 Swords - Tips, Secrets and Glitches
Tips
- If you pick up your friends, all the rupees you collect will
go to you, and they can't gain any, because you're holding onto
them.
- If another player picks you up against your will, repeatedly
press buttons until they drop you.
- If the Rupee Wraith is following you, find another player
and pass it onto them by touching them.
- Always cut down all the grass you can find, and pick up any
boulders you can find. They are a useful source of rupees.
- Always try to get a fairy if you are not on full health. The
Rupee Fever you gain from having all players on full health is
extremely useful, and worth missing a few rupees to get.
- After a boss, get the fairies first, and THEN go after the
rupees. The Rupee Fever will make up for any rupees that disappear
before you can collect them.
- In most calm patches of water, there are rupees underwater.
Dive and swim around to collect them.
- If you have Rupee Fever, collect Black Rupees. You will lose
the normal amount, but gain double. The same goes for Rupee Wraiths,
but they take a lot longer, and you have to stay in the same area
to get your money back.
- Throw a pot at someone and it will become stuck on their head.
Their screen will go black, although they are still able to move
(they can't see where they're going). They cannot use any items
in this state. To remove the pot, another player must pick them up.

Secrets
- After getting the Master Sword in LttP, you gain the beam attack
in 4 Swords.
- After getting 10 Medals of Courage, you gain access to a Riddle
Game in LttP.
- After beating the Riddle Game in LttP, you gain a new sword
technique in both 4 Swords and LttP.
- After beating both 4 Swords and LttP, a new dungeon is unlocked
in LttP. It can be found in the right-hand hole in the Pyramid of
Power.
- After beating Vaati once, you can play through the first 3 levels
again to try to get Gold Keys. You need 3000 rupees to get a Gold Key.
- After collecting the Gold Keys and beating Vaati again, you can
play through the first 3 levels again to try to get Hero's Keys. You
need 5000 rupees to get a Hero's Key.
