LoZ Fanfic
Prologue Link leapt forward and delivered the final blow to Ganon, the blue hued blade of the Master Sword cleaving him deep across his gullet. The hulking mass backed up and let out a loud shriek of pain as it reared its ugly head. The shriek slowly faded as the sages appeared around the beast, each issuing forth a light of their own corresponding color and sealing the beast within a realm of eternal darkness. However, before Link could let out a cry of victory, the ground beneath him started shaking. With a sigh, he sheathed the blade and turned to Zelda, a slight bow given. “Forgive me, Princess,” he shot out quickly before he grasped her around the waist, a quick hoist given as she was tossed over his shoulder. He quickly turned and ran to the edge of the ruined top of the castle. He looked down at the fiery pit and then at a small piece of wood that stuck up from where the bridge to the old castle had been. “Navi!” This was given shortly and the fairy bobbed up and down before zipping off towards the wooden pole. She reached it and circled around before darting back a few yards and then rushing forward full speed. She plowed into the wood causing it to tip the other way and lean just into the reach of Link's Longshot. He squeezed the small lever on the handle and the chain shot forth, plowing directly through the wood, the spear tip exploding into a four separate barb object that latched on the other side. The chain retracted, yanking him and the Princess across the pit of lava. They landed safely on the other side and he placed her down, smiling slightly. “Better then fighting whatever was in store in the castle,” he said softly. She nodded and returned his smile with a faint one of her own. “It's alright Link…but now it's time to return you to your original time. No one but you and I will remember this day because it will never truly come to pass,” Zelda said softly as she pulled the Ocarina of Time from Link's worn belt. “What about Ganon..won't he be sent back too? I mean…it'll be like an unending cycle,” Link replied. “Oh, don't worry about that. We sealed Ganon away in a timeless realm of darkness and the Master Sword will be returned to the Temple of Time after this. That sword will serve as the key to his world. And since you're the only one that can wield it, we needn't worry,” she said with a smile before she placed her lips upon the ocarina and began to play. The soft notes of the Song of Time echoed in Link's mind as he was lifted up and jettisoned into a white nothingness. “Goodbye, Hero.” |
