Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Future
/_\==Chapter Two: The Hero Returns==/_\
The next thing Link knew was that he was lying on his back. Getting up, he saw that he was in a chamber that was made completely out of sandstone. The room looked ordinary enough in shape, roughly being an oval. Where he was lying on the ground, he saw that he had been on a slightly raised pedestal. Surrounding the pedestal were four statues, and each one was made completely out of green, red, blue and oddly enough, purple sandstone. There was a doorway at one end of the room, but it was blocked by a sandstone door. At the other end of the room was another small pedestal, but the pedestal was made out of marble, not sandstone, and there was a sword embedded in it. He started to walk towards the sword, but then he heard a coarse grating noise emitting behind him. Turning around, he saw that the seemingly solid door was slowly moving aside, exposing a tunnel behind it. He remembered that a lab aide had given him a 9mm pistol, and he found that he still had it. He pulled it out, chambered a round, and turned off the safety. He then hid behind the only cover that was available: one of the statues. Then the grating stopped, and heavy footsteps could be heard. “At last!” said the voice of the person, apparently male. “I have finally found the new resting place of the Master Sword!” When the man walked past the statues, he was totally focused on the sword at the other end, and he simply walked right past him. By this time, Link assumed that this man was some sort of tomb robber, and an oddly dressed one. He was wearing a brown outfit, with black armor on top of it. Behind him flowed an elaborate tan cape with patterns of red and a light shade of teal. Link then summoned up his courage, and then jumped out behind the statue, pointed his pistol at the man and shouted “Freeze!” simply because he had no idea what else to say. The man turned around and he had a look of surprise on his face, then he quickly assumed a smug expression. “So, this is the guardian of the Master Sword? Ha! You are a fool to oppose Gannondorf, King of all of Hyrule!” said Gannondorf, then he examined Link “You do have strange clothing… but that toy …thing will never protect you!” The then looked about ready to charge Link, so Link fired a shot at his knee, not wanting to kill the man. Unfortunately, Link had very little training with the gun, and he was quite nervous. Instead of hitting the knee, Link’s shot merely grazed his shin, doing little to no damage. Gannondorf, surprised, looked at his leg “You managed to hit me with that weapon, I see. But it will not happen twice!” Gannondorf then raised his arms above his head, and a bright yellow ball started to form above his head. Assuming that that ball was dangerous, Link then fired the rest of the shots in what he assumed to be the easiest target: the chest. But Link’s shots seemed to bounce off some invisible force field. Then, in an act of desperation, he threw the gun at Gannondorf, and it simply bounced off like the bullets. While all of this was happening, Gannondorf merely stood there laughing manically, all the while the spell was slowly charging up. Link then took shelter behind a statue, just as Gannondorf launched the spell at him. The spell smashed into the statue, shattering it, and then a strange thing happened. The statue happened to be the blue one, and in the statues place stood a large ball of blue light, which promptly zipped towards Gannondorf, bypassing his shield, and flung him out of the room, shouting “I’ll get that sword! Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but SOMEDAY!!!” Then the door grated closed and sealed Link’s escape route. He then turned to the sword, his only option. As he stepped up to the sword, it seemed that some strange force was beckoning that he should draw it. He grasped the hilt and pulled, surprised that the sword slid out so freely. A circle of light then surrounded him, and light first was white, then it split into four different colors: green, red, purple, and blue. He was lifted up into the air, and then it felt that his very soul was being ripped apart. His last though before he blacked out was what did he just get himself into…
