Zelda Infinite

Check this out! In an interview with Famitsu magazine, Mr. Aonuma discussed the likelihood of Zelda Wii being playable at E3 this year!

"We've been working on Zelda since last year," Aonuma told Famitsu. "Right now we're just at the point where we've got the core of it down, the way we'll be having players play the game. By E3 in June we'll likely have the core gameplay out in playable form; we want that so people can get an idea of what the game's like to experience." He also confirmed that the game was entirely based around MotionPlus, and he wondered how they could ever go back to the way it was in past Zelda games.

Of course, however, when asked for a release date, he quickly dodges the question with: "We'll try our best to get it to gamers as quickly as possible." Does this mean they may no longer be looking at a 2010 release? We'll have to wait and see, my friends!

Hey, guys.

According to IGN, there has been a leak on 2ch explaining some details of Zelda Wii. They are as follows:

• The game will diverge from the established dungeon-field-dungeon gameplay style. (confirmed by Aonuma)

• You can select whether you're right or left-handed, and Link will have the same handedness as you.

• The basic mechanics and gameplay elements are done, and they're currently working on the story and developing characters. Among them are an innkeeper in the town where Link lives and her young son, who looks up to him.

• The girl in the concept art is not the master sword, and as of now there are no plans for Link to get the Master Sword in the game. Her name is Aderu (maybe Adelle; GameFAQs ate the Japanese again), and she's not your typical companion like Ezlo or Midna, in that she's rarely there with you. What you see in the piece of concept/promotional art isn't her real face.

• Link's main weapon is a sword with different unlockable abilities, which Aderu communicates with you through.

• Horseback combat is back, with a more intelligent Epona that is better at avoiding obstacles.

• The character models for Link, Epona, and the Gorons have all been modified and touched up, but they're the only ones, suggesting no Zelda or Ganon (or entirely new models for them).

• This Link is the Hero of Time.

• There is time travel.

• The game does NOT take place in Hyrule.

While this is all very interesting and exciting, please, as the rest of the Zelda internet community is warning: take this with a grain of salt. As there is a good chance it could be true, as 2ch has been in the past, it could also be a complete fraud. Also, keep in mind that while this news is claimed to be "new", keep in mind that this was also posted on GameFAQs over a months ago.

Hope to hear some clarity from Nintendo soon. And while you're waiting for Zelda Wii with your beaten copy of Spirit Tracks, I challenge you all to play a three heart run! I'm 3/4 of the way done with the game by now, and I'm pleased to say that the game is nearly just as fun the second time around! Stay safe, friends.

A 2010 release date for Zelda Wii may not be as set in stone as we were led to believe by recent comments made by NCL President Satoru Iwata. Recently on Nintendo Week, Nintendo of America President Reginald Fils-Aime commented on Zelda Wii and stressed that the game would not be released until Miyamoto and Aonuma are convinced that it is perfect.

Of course, seasoned Zelda fans have come to expect rather significant delays when it comes to new iterations of console Zelda-games, so this news is probably not all that surprising to some.

This does not mean that Zelda Wii will definitely not come out in 2010. It just means that if Nintendo feels that a delay would benefit the game, they will not be afraid to push it back. After all, it was Shigeru Miyamoto himself who once said, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a bad game is bad forever."

So keep your fingers crossed kids, but don't be too disappointed if we don't see Zelda Wii quite as soon as we were hoping.

Well, isn't this exciting!

According to an interview with Satoru Iwata himself, courtesy of Asahi Shimbun (A Japanese newspaper), Zelda Wii is officially slated for 2010. I'd tell you to check out the full interview, but it's in Japanese. And so the waiting game starts! Once again, Zelda Wii is expected to have a spot at E3 2010, which is being held June 15-17th, in Los Angeles.

Among other things, Iwata also announced that a successor to the Nintendo DS is in the works, featuring enhanced graphics and, if you'll believe it, motion controls! No idea how that will work, possibly along the same lines as WarioWare: Twisted? We will see in the coming year or two!

Hope to update soon as more news is revealed, my friends!

Hey, everyone. Well, holiday break in full force for most of the younger site-goers, I'm sure you're pretty excited! For those who celebrated Hanukkah just recently, a belated Happy Hanukkah to those of you, and a Merry Christmas to the rest of you, and Happy New Year to all!

Is anyone hoping for a copy of Spirit Tracks? If you are, I certainly hope you get it, it was quite a game! If not, I still suggest you pick up a copy if you haven't yet

An interesting interview with Aonuma with UK's EDGE reveals that they realize and regret that using such a large landscape for a photo-realistic game made for an overall less interesting Hyrule.

"For Twilight Princess we used the adult Link and one of the interesting things about that was how we considered the precise proportions of Link and the world. The scale is because we aimed for a more realistic quality in the size of the environments of Hyrule and what that Link faced. But the question is whether or not we were able to incorporate any and all of the interesting game ideas that were able to take advantage of that kind of sheer grand scale within the Zelda universe. I am afraid that definitely no, we were not able to do all the things that perhaps with hindsight we had the capabilities to do. With that as the starting point, we are now developing the Wii version of Legend Of Zelda."

Only 6 more months until we finally get a trailer at E3! So once again, happy holidays, everybody, and hopefully we'll have some update-worthy news in the coming months!
